The Long Island Regional Planning Council (LIRPC) is inviting proposals to assemble an inventory of waterfront uses for marinas and commercial fishing on Long Island.
Long Island’s coastal resources contribute significant benefits to Long Island’s regional economy especially in terms of coastal tourism, commerce and recreational services and result in expansion of businesses as well as improvement of aquatic ecosystems. Land use patterns and regulations vary by the many municipal jurisdictions on Long Island and this study will create a central database of waterfront uses and their associated zoning classification. The project will include an analysis and survey of waterfront areas /land parcels that currently exist as active commercial and municipally owned marinas and as commercial fishing facilities. This data will assist policymakers as they address coastal land use trends including these facilities being displaced by residential development.
The RFP and appendices can be downloaded here. Proposals will be received until 4:00 p.m. on March 8, 2022. Any late proposals will not be considered.
Requests for information pertinent to the preparation and submission of proposals and the procurement process are to be emailed no later than March 1, 2022 to:
