Regional Plan Association is seeking a talented urban planner to work on all aspects of community planning projects, including helping to develop and oversee project work plans, budgets and administration; researching and summarizing municipal master plans, vision plans and other land use plans and studies; compiling and analyzing land use, planning, zoning and other data; organizing and executing stakeholder meetings and community planning workshops; and writing draft and final policy documents and planning reports. The planner will focus primarily on Long Island, but may work on projects throughout the New York metropolitan region.
Applicants should have several years of work experience and a relevant masters-level degree. Successful candidates will have excellent research, writing, organizational, presentation and project management skills and work well both in teams and independently in a fast-paced office environment. Familiarity with Long Island and experience working with local government officials and business and community leaders is preferred. Proficiency in ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, or related software is also preferred. Salary will be commensurate with level of experience.
