economic development and SEQR experience to formulate a revitalization plan for Upper Port
Jefferson’s commercial district and adjacent professional and residential areas. Located on the
north shore of Long Island within Brookhaven Township, Upper Port Jefferson lies south of
North Country Road and north of the LIRR tracks and Port Jefferson Station. Work is
anticipated to span approximately 4 months and will follow an accelerated time schedule.

Request can be obtained from Denise Harrington at 631-473-4744 or dharrington@portjeff.com.
The Village anticipates that this Upper Port Redevelopment Plan will build upon existing
recommendations from the Draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update and include specific
measures to be implemented. While this consultant will make recommendations as to the
necessary features of the successful revitalization of Upper Port; the emphasis of the
consultant’s work will be to provide the specific ingredients needed for the rebirth of Upper Port.
Below the Village has identified potential constituents of the Upper Port revitalization. Yet, it is
the consultant’s responsibility to identify the most important revitalization tools, assess their
usefulness in Upper Port and provide the most pertinent ones in a format so they can be
actualized by the Village in a timely manner.
