The Suffolk County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering a free training on culvert assessments on June 3 and 4, 2020.
The training consists of both a classroom component and an in-field portion. By the end of the training session, all participants will be qualified as Lead Observers (LO) with the North Atlantic Aquatic Connectivity Collaborative (NAACC). Lead Observers have the ability to individually assess culverts and stream crossings for habitat restoration possibilities and other unique replacement opportunities. Data from culvert assessments can be uploaded into NAACC’s public database.
ATTENDANCE WILL BE CAPPED AT 60 INDIVIDUALS! To register, please email Edward.compagnone2@suffolkcountyny.gov or call 631-852-3036 with any questions. Please do not wait to register!
