Dr. Donovan Finn at Stony Brook University is currently conducting a survey of professional planners in the United States, sponsored by the National Center for Atmospheric Research, to gain a better understanding of how local planners use climate data in their work and to assess their level of scientific training related to climatological issues.
The goal of the study is to use this information to create continuing education training modules and other resources that can help planners locate, identify and utilize better and more sophisticated climate data in their work.
